Big news from The Strainrite Companies
We are proud to announce that Strainrite's Gamma Irradiated Clarity Capsule and Cartridge filters have successfully completed 4-year shelf-life validation testing — surpassing our previously documented 3-year standard for gamma irradiated product.
This milestone reflects the same unwavering commitment to quality, reliability, and performance that has defined The Strainrite Companies for more than 47 years. It is one more example of what happens when engineering and quality expertise work hand in hand: filtration solutions you can count on, even years down the line.
What the validation confirms
Our Quality Assurance team has validated a recommended shelf life of 4 years from the date of manufacture for gamma irradiated Clarity Cartridge and Capsule filters. This brings gamma irradiated product in line with our recommended 4-year shelf life for all dry packaged cartridge and capsule filters — backed by documented testing rather than assumption.
To achieve the full validated shelf life, filters should be stored in accordance with our recommended conditions:
Store cartridges and capsules in their original shipping bag and packaging, in a clean and dry environment.
Maintain storage temperatures between 41°F (5°C) and 104°F (40°C) in dry conditions.
Do not expose filters to direct sunlight, radiation, or direct weather conditions.
Visually inspect packaging and product before use, and do not use damaged articles.
Exercise care to avoid placing heavy objects on top of filter packaging.
Ensure the shipping bag and any seals are intact, and where appropriate, perform integrity testing prior to use.
What this means for you
A longer validated shelf life gives your operation more flexibility and more confidence at every stage of the supply chain:
Extended storage flexibility for smarter inventory planning
Reduced waste and cost from premature product turnover
Greater confidence in long-term supply chain management
Continued assurance of performance right up to point-of-use
Beyond meeting standards
At The Strainrite Companies, we don't just meet standards — we push beyond them. Our engineering and quality teams work tirelessly to validate that every product we deliver performs exactly as promised, whenever you need it. This 4-year milestone is another step in that ongoing commitment to delivering classic, top-quality filtration you can rely on.
