Careers at Strainrite
Build a Career in Filtration. Start Anywhere. Go Everywhere.
For nearly 50 years, The Strainrite Companies has designed and manufactured the world's leading liquid filtration and separation products — right here in Auburn, Maine. We supply customers across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, serving the pharmaceutical, healthcare, food and beverage, and biotechnology industries. We're growing, and we're looking for energetic people ready to grow with us.
Why Strainrite?
Three core values guide everything we do:
People First
People are our most important asset. Your growth is our priority — and when opportunities open up, our own people are the first we look to.
Science-Driven
We're a science-driven organization. Innovation and technology are at the heart of how we manufacture and how we solve our customers' toughest filtration challenges.
Community-Minded
We give back. We're committed to being a responsible partner to our community and to the environment.
Schedules That Work Around Your Life
We operate on a flexible schedule from 5 AM to 7 PM, with part-time and full-time roles across many different shifts throughout the day. Depending on machine usage, we do our best to work around your personal schedule — and we can usually make it fit.
Grow Without Limits
Want to learn more than one thing? We're completely open to cross-training — it's more valuable for you and more valuable for the company. Prefer to focus on one role and do it well? That works for us too. Either way, you tell us the direction you want to go, and we'll give you a path to follow. As a manufacturer, we offer many different career opportunities — production, engineering, accounting, customer service, graphic design, and more. You can start in one area and move into another as your interests grow. You can even start at the bottom and move into management in under five years.
Real paths, from real people here:
"I started out as a sewer in production, stitching filter bags. When an opportunity opened in the costing department, I jumped on it — and learned the inventory and computer systems." "I've been here nine and a half years. I started as an administrative assistant in production. Now I'm the planning manager, covering scheduling, purchasing, and shipping." "Twenty-one years here. I've grown personally and professionally — from people management to now leading the technical side of the business: quality and projects." "This is probably the best company I've ever worked for. If you want to grow in manufacturing, the opportunities here are real."
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for energetic people who want to learn. We're open-minded, diverse, and we provide a lot of training — you just tell us where you want to go. Whether you want to master one craft or build across many, there's a place for you here.
